About Emiliana Ammirata

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Emiliana is a writer & director of narrative and documentary filmmaking. She was awarded the Sundance Ignite Fellowship with her first short in 2016 and has pursued independent cinema since.

Her interests were first sparked with cinematography, a cinematic aspect that she deeply values and has pursued for most of her studies. Inspired by her country and Latin America, Emiliana hopes to tell stories that involve forward-thinking issues, challenge societal stigmas, and represent minorities in society.
